"I got started with Club Fifty a year ago and have lost 34 lbs. I have struggled all my life with my weight but finally started eating more whole foods and took up the on-line challenges that Amy organized. We did the sugar challenge and read a lot of thought provoking information about sugar addiction. Food has always been my addiction and some days I handle it well and others, I do NOT! I LOVE the group support- everyone has their own challenge. We are not a group that shares every little detail about what we do but what has been shared is genuine support and encouragement! I prefer this group to any of the other groups I have been a part of and believe me, I have tried MANY! AND FAILED. I have been successful so far with this group. Our workouts are so much fun! We work hard but the exercises are always interesting, and different so that I don't get bored. Amy is a great motivator- she has a wealth of knowledge that I have seen confirmed by everything I read on the internet, magazines and doctors- she has real common sense. She knows how to get us thinking and changing- two key components for my success. Thank you, Amy and my friends at Club Fifty!"

"Six months ago I never would of thought I would be a runner. Thanks to Amy and KV Coaching I have been running for 5 months. In less than 2 months I have taken 4 minutes off my 5K time. Amy is AMAZING, she believes in you when you don't believe in yourself. I am truly inspired but each of my fellow runners. The support you will find at KV coaching can not be matched!!!!!"

"My goal this year was to complete the Couch to 5K program, and run a race. I did the Couch to 5k on my own on the treadmill and completed my 5K in May. Then I signed up with KVC for the trail running group. Well, here I am now having run 3 5k road races, 6 5K trail races, one 5 mile trail race, and of course one freakin' mountain. And of course the best part of all of it was the awesome people (all of you!) I have met! Looking forward to new challenges in the new year."

"Best investment EVER! Way better than a boring gym membership. I love running again!"

"I joined KVC Club 50 in January of 2012. I remember that first class distinctly.…everything was so hard. I thought “I’ll never be able to do these things.” And I went in thinking I was pretty strong physically…..little did I know. I wasn’t at my highest weight ever, but close to it. Over the past 30 years, I’ve done just about all the programs – Diet Workshop, Weight Watchers, Nutri System, Curves – and they all worked for a time, but not long. Within the last ten years my lab numbers started creeping up, and I just couldn’t seem to do anything about it. The doc said I had diabetes, which I tried very hard to deny. My AIC wouldn’t come down and even my blood pressure and cholesterol were going up. My last blood work in 2012 showed my AIC down 2 points into the normal range, my cholesterol dropped 40 points, and my blood pressure is now 90s over 40s -- all benefits of exercising at KVC. One of my goals at the beginning of 2012 was to be able to jog a mile -- even while writing it on Amy’s questionnaire, I thought, This is crazy…..it will never happen." But, by the end of 2012 I had done six official 5Ks, improving my time on each one, from almost 40 minutes to 35.15 at the Gasping Gobbler in November. Looking back, I still can’t believe I can run a race – and on occasion even pass someone! I haven’t lost a ton of weight, not quite 20 pounds, but I’ve gone down two clothing sizes! Although I still struggle with my sugar cravings, I feel so much better. I’ve always been a walker and a hiker. But the mountains I climbed last summer and fall – Megunticook, Ragged, Norumbega, South Turner – were so much easier. When I take walks, I want to jog, I want to stop and do step-ups, I want to run up and down stairs; I have a completely different outlook on what real exercise is. A year ago, 5 jumping jacks did me in; now I can do 60 easily. Roll ups, push ups, dips, squats, wall sits….I could go on and on. Everything has changed. Thanks Amy and KVC! The support, encouragement, and friendships are invaluable."

"Amy, thank you for helping and inspiring me to achieve goals that I've had for years. KVC is such a powerful organization. Running in the Beach to Beacon the other weekend was one of the top 20 coolest events of my life! Thank you for helping me to cross yet another thing off my bucket list!"

"This was a great year. I ran 12 races (the most ever), including 3 half marathons, a 15K, a 4.5 miler, and a race up a freakin' mountain. I logged more miles than any other year and improved my average time and timed mile. Looking forward to next year with KVC!!"

"I ran five miles yesterday!!! I never thought I could do that, even when I was in college almost forty years ago and running a mile to a mile-and-a-half most days. Thanks for all your support and encouragement."

"I might just be on one of those runner's highs that people speak of from this morning's workout, but just want to say a huge THANK YOU for getting this program going!! It's just the thing I needed to realize the dream of becoming a real, honest to goodness actual runner. Now I can enter all those 5Ks in the future that were only something to read about before and wish I could participate in. Thank you also for keeping things so positive, happy, fun and safe. Starting something like this at age 48 can be a little scary but so far it just feels awesome and I am finding that I can't wait to train this week for next Saturday. Yeah!!!"

"Amy is absolutely awesome! I reached out to her via email a few months ago. I was embarrassed about my weight and nervous about not knowing anybody that attends KVC. Her response to me was positive and encouraging, she recommended I try out the Fifty Club. What a wonderful group of people, I immediately felt at ease. All the people I have met at KVC have been welcoming and such an inspiration. That was over a month ago and boy am I glad I joined. KVC is changing my life, I already feel so much better. I have now added the Couch to 5K training. I hadn't run since I was a kid, it has always been a dream of mine and thanks to Amy I am doing it! Amy is motivating, encouraging, knowledgeable and makes exercise fun. Thank you Amy, I feel blessed to have found you."
